Business Development Consultant (BDC)
Location: Cheshire [Hybrid: 3 days on-site/on the road)]
A dynamic opportunity has arisen for an ambitious individual to join a growing team as a Business Development Consultant (BDC). This role focuses on cultivating relationships and generating new business through phone-based outreach, client meetings, and outbound sales activity. It offers the chance to progress to a full Business Development Manager (BDM) role within 12 months.
Responsibilities:
- Proactive Sales Engagement: Engage financial advisers, building relationships to drive asset growth.
- Targeted Outreach: Develop a strong understanding of investment products and maintain an efficient contact strategy with IFAs.
- Client Management: Follow up on event leads, marketing campaigns, and maintain strong client relationships.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the sales team to prioritize target firms and share best practices.
- Client Meetings: Plan and conduct virtual and in-person 1:1 meetings with clients.
- CRM Management: Keep the CRM updated with relevant activity and relationship notes.
- Adviser Events: Attend and support adviser conferences as needed.
- Sales Support: Assist the Head of Sales with client meetings.
Skills & Experience:
- Motivated & Articulate: Strong relationship-building skills with a desire to grow in business development.
- Financial Services Experience: Experience working with financial planners is essential.
- Investment Management Knowledge: MPS or Multi-Asset experience is preferred.
- Sales Experience: At least 2 years in sales, with proven success in meeting KPIs.
- Excellent Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Time Management: Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
- Proactive & Positive: Self-starter with a can-do attitude.
